The Clarendon Players
Welcome to the website of The Clarendon Players, Wootton Bassett’s award winning Amateur Dramatic Group, in our 43rd year of staging plays in the town. Hopefully this site will encourage you to buy a ticket for one of our plays or to come along and join us as a member or patron.
Many thanks to everyone who came to watch our November production of Donald Churchill and Peter Yeldham's My Friend Miss Flint and for the positive feedback that we have received.
We hope that you will come to see our next production, which will consist of 3 One Act Plays to be performed on the evenings of March 15th - 17th, 2012. The plays are Alec Baron's The Big Cats, Eliot Strange's comedy A Jolly Sinister Jape and Jimmie Chinn's Interior Designs, which will be our entry in the Harold Jolliffe One Act Festival in Swindon in April 2012. Rehearsals are underway and the plays are really entertaining.
Although we are amateur in the sense that we put on plays for fun, we aim to put on as professional a show as we can for our audiences and this is reflected by the reviews that we receive. We provide excellent value for money, with tickets being only £6.00 for an evening's entertainment (concessions £5.00). Tickets will be on sale in Wootton Bassett Post Office from Saturday 3rd March 2012.
If you'd like to act or work backstage, please come and join us as a member. Our half yearly membership subscription is only £25. Alternatively, why not become a Patron? For an annual fee of only £19 you are entitled to a ticket for each production and you can book seats before they go on general release.
We hope you enjoy looking at our web site - there are lots of photos from past productions in our Photo Gallery. For more information about the Clarendon Players, please contact Alec Smith at ahlsmith@aol.com.
